September 25th Conference Agenda
10:00 AM Green IT Presentation, Atti Riazi, CIO of Ogilvy & Mather
IT Unplugged. This talk will focus on how technology has environmental, organizational and sociopolitical impacts, shaping and forming the organizational terrain and the world in ways that often go undetected for years. These impacts ultimately need to be understood and integrated. How does the IT community recognize the unintended consequences of technology?
How do we take a more responsible approach to our energy consumption and ewaste. How do we go beyond only seeing the visible bugs and visible risk to seeing those largely invisible risks waiting to surprise us? Technology is changing everything around us and we must take responsibility for managing the changes innovation drives.
12:00 PM Software Security: State of the Practice 2008 , Gary McGraw, Globally Recognized Authority on Security
Using the framework described in my book "Software Security: Building Security In"—built around the three pillars of software security: risk management, the touchpoints, and knowledge—I will discuss and describe the state of the practice. This talk is peppered with real data from the field, based on my work with several large financial services companies as a Cigital consultant. Really, the software security field is just getting started, but we are making important forward progress, and the future looks bright.
