About CIOZone

CIOZone consists of several key elements all of which leverage contemporary forms of interactive and Web 2.0 technologies to communicate, inform and educate members. Peer Networks

This allows CIOs to seek out and establish links with other CIOs in similar size companies, in like industries, or in similar situations. It allows them to exchange ideas, tips, techniques, and thoughts one-to-one, instantaneously.

Expert Advice/Solutions Services
CIOZone staff fields questions from the community and uses the community's resources-its editorial staff, its data repositories, and other members-to obtain, vet, and supply the right answers to all queries. Those queries and others make up CIOZone's topic bulletin boards. Questions are also posted here by members, and open to all members to weigh in. Each topic center is monitored by community CIOs, who answer questions themselves or direct queries to CIOZone's staff for resolution.

Research & Surveys
CIOZone undertakes a major research project each month and provides its findings to the community. All research is made available to members of tier one, a majority of the research is available to tier two, and executive summaries of findings are released for general consumption.

Education & Careers
Online forums including video, virtual trade shows, webcasts and white board presentations bring the CIO community and the vendor community together to exchange ideas and knowledge. Special reports target each of the tiers. This portion of CIOZone also posts thought-provoking academic research papers, the latest findings from the key IT research organizations, CIO submitted white papers, interviews with thought leaders, and relevant papers from the likes of McKinsey, Wharton, and MIT. (Vendor supplied white papers, if judged to be of general interest by community members, are also posted.) The section also contains topic-specific wikis that are started by CIOZone's editors and then are opened up to contributions by the members. (CIOZone also conducts "emergency management/disaster planning" sessions online. In the case of a hurricane, for instance, the editors bring together specialists who educate and instruct CIO members on how best to protect their companies' assets.)

Opinion & Insight
Chief information officers, leading academics and the veteran editorial staff of CIOZone provide commentary, opinions and analysis on key technology trends and business news in blogs, online editorials, and columns. In addition, a membership blog gives voice to any participant in CIOZone.

Events/Calendar & Online Roundtables
CIOZone's calendar keeps track of the dates CIOs need to remember for important online and offline gatherings. Event listings include upcoming webcasts, virtual trade shows and online roundtables. These are online get-togethers where CIOs-and invited vendor guests-talk about important technology and business topics.

Rankings & Lists
CIOZone's surveys, research and reports are culled into useful lists-the top software companies, hardware companies; top consultants; best places to work, etc. These are not only useful and informative, but generate a lot of buzz.

CIO Case Studies
The editorial staff of CIOZone takes the hard experiences of various members and produces case studies that provide education and insight for other members.
