San Fran CIO is headed to the White House, White House Aneesh Chopra Gets a Hand, and there is a new CIO title the CMIO. Guess where it is used.

San Francisco CIO Chris Vein is headed to the White House. Vein will serve as deputy CTO under Aneesh Chopra at the Office of Science and Technology Policy.

Mansfield, Ohio, native Jeff B. Mowry was named to the CIO post on Monday, Feb. 28. Mowry returns to Ohio from Broward County, Fla., where as CIO he managed a 165-person staff and the county’s data center, IT applications and telecom. Previous to his public-sector service, Mowry worked for two decades in IT with Chrysler.

Better get used to this title if you have not heard it before - CMIO, the Chief Medical Information Officer is emerging as the latest CIO title used specifically for the Health Care industry. Arlington-based CACI International Inc., has hired Keith Salzman to serve as its new chief medical information officer. Salzman was previously chief medical information officer at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Wash.

Global Solar Energy, a manufacturer of high-efficiency Copper Indium Gallium diSelenide (CIGS) solar material and an emerging leader in building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), has announced Dr. Urs Schoop as the company’s new chief technology officer (CTO). As CTO, Dr. Schoop will leverage his extensive expertise in the research and development of CIGS solar cell production.
