CIOs on the Move for Feb. 15, 2011

National Retail Federation CIO Leaves, Health Dialog names new CIO.

David Hogan, who has served as the Chief Information Officer for the National Retail Federation for some nine years, is leaving to try and find “a more traditional industry” job, he said. The move isn’t new. Hogan has been talking with NRF management about transitioning out since October, he said, and he briefed CIOs on the move last month. Hogan is still working at the NRF in a consulting role, with a title of Executive Technology Adviser, and he expects to be wrapped up by about April. Before the NRF, he was the CIO at Duty Free Americas, a business unit CIO for The Limited and VP/MIS at footwear retailer Kobacker Company.

CGI Group, Inc., a leading provider of information technology and business process services announced today the hiring of former Kentucky Chief Information Officer and Public Official of the Year, Aldona Valicenti, as CGI Vice-President for State and Local markets.

At CGI, Ms. Valicenti will work directly with Governors, State CIOs and other officials to help them address critical IT needs as states struggle to balance delivery of citizen services with ongoing budget challenges.

TalkTalk has revealed that CIO David Cooper will be leaving the group.

He will take over the role of CIO at British Gas, starting in April.Cooper joins British Gas at a busy time for the company. British Gas is currently filing a £182m lawsuit against Accenture over an SAP-based Jupiter System.

Cooper will likely report to David Bickerton, who was formerly CIO at British Gas and is now the parent company's global CIO.

Boston’s Health Dialog Services Corp. has hired Bill Pelzar, former Gartner Inc. executive, as the company’s chief information officer.

Prior to Health Dialog, Pelzar served as region vice president for executive programs at Gartner, leading a group of senior advisors focused on the CIO space. Previously, he held various senior vice president, CIO, CTO, and senior-level management jobs at the College Board, Thomson Healthcare, Grumman Aerospace, and Primark.
