Announcer:
I noticed one of the offerings that you offer is full server failover. Can you tell me are you yourself using off-the-shelf products with that? Is that something like Doubletake or Neverfail?
Storagepipe:
Yeah, actually.
That's one of the things I was just touching on with differentiation. The breadth of our services... So when we originally got started, we were in primarily online backup. And then, because of demand from customers... and also just to extend our offerings... we've broadened to offer a range of data protection and system protection services.
For example, the online backup that you've just mentioned... we have a channel program for that as well. We have email archiving... and we also have the high-availability/server failover systems that you've just mentioned.
And that utilizes both some technology of our own that we've put in place in a SaaS model... and also utilizes Doubletake in terms of its capability for the replication.
Announcer:
Well, I know them very well actually and think very highly of their technology. But the real value that I see you're bringing to this picture... if I'm seeing this correctly... I can have my own datacenter... and I could be replicating those to your off-site location. And if my Internet connection got severed by a backhoe, I could fail over to the cloud and you could just bring that server back up?
Storagepipe:
Oh yeah... and it's a powerful offering because many times... for larger businesses... and we service large companies in many cases. And we saw what large companies were starting to look at. They've got their own redundant datacenters.
But small businesses and medium-sized couldn't always afford to have entirely different datacenters set up somewhere. So what we've done is really offer an off-the-shelf solution where you don't need to develop a new hot-site if you're trying to deal with a specific issue.
For example, if you have a file server, a mail server and your database server.... you have maybe only 3 servers. Well now you can just replicate those 3 servers and have failover for those servers into an alternative environment.
