The OW2 Cloud Initiative announced in May started with a "bedrock" of integrated open source applications at the intersection of the PaaS and Iaas cloud layers. One of the questions/wishes for the initiative has been finding collaboration partners down at the IaaS and Haas levels, and up at the SaaS level.

Those wishes are rapidly being granted. In late June, Ignacio M. Llorente, co-leader of the OpenNebula project offered to help integrate his IaaS platform with the OW2 "bedrock" PaaS apps. Soon thereafter, Nicolas Barcet, the Ubuntu Product Manager at Canonical, proposed created a demo integration of the Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud IaaS offering with the OW2 PaaS bedrock applications. 

Members of the initiative will discuss these offers and continue working on the overall roadmap next week during a series of conference calls. At the moment, it seems there will be at least two calls -- one at 6 p.m. CEST on Tuesday, July 13, and another at 10 a.m. CEST on Thursday, July 15.

1. Subscribe to the mailing list: send an email to sympa AT ow2.org with the following subject: SUBscribe cloud-initiative YourName

2. When subscribed, send an email to the list cloud-initiative AT ow2.org with the following information:

• an introduction to your activities in cloud computing,
• your roadmap if any,
• an introduction to your planned contribution to the OW2 OSCi.
