The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics just came out with the 2010-11 edition of its Occupational Outlook Handbook, which it puts out every two years. According to the Bureau's research, prospects look very good for IT professionals: "Faster than average employment growth is expected, and job prospects should be excellent." (Note: The OOH makes 10-year projections, although the current edition's 10-year range is 2008-2018. I'm not quite sure why 2008 is the starting point.)
