	Great article. It is such an important topic to cover, given that open source solutions exist for virtually every proprietary product in the market, supporting all platforms.     Compliance, legal, financial, and security exposures are very important topics relating to the adoption of Free Open Source Software and surely the reason some CIO's approach it with some trepidation.    There are two projects called FOSSology and FOSSBazaar that can help organizations grapple with these issues. Naturally, they are open source:)  FOSSology is a toolset downloadable from FOSSology.org available under the GPL v2.0. It enables people to discover, track and acquire FOSS.  FOSSBazaar is a collaborative effort with HP, the Linux Foundation, Coverity Google, Novell, OpenLogic and SourceForge to offer a community resource with educational documentation and interaction to help people address FOSS business issues and discover best practices.
