ACH Foods, which offers such brand name products as Mazola corn oil and Argo corn starch, says a project it has run to use a data integration platform to assist in migrating acquisitions onto its core enterprise resource planning system has delivered substantial benefits.

The Memphis, Tenn.-based company is using a platform from Informatica to assist in migrating the legacy systems of companies it has acquired onto its core SAP ERP system.

In the past, chief information officer Donnie Steward says such migrations have taken as much as nine months, but the data integration platform has helped whittled that time down to three months.

The integration platform assists in standardizing customer names, cleaning address data, and assuring vendor and material data quality. As an example, ACH says it managed to reduce the number of "ship to" contacts in its legacy data from 25,000 to just 5,000 in SAP.—Mel Duvall
