The big spenders in the technology industry have outdone themselves in 2009, acquiring other companies to move into new markets, flesh out their product portfolios and bail themselves out of dead-end growth strategies. Now, granted it's too early to gauge which deals are going to work out and which won't, but here's a preliminary assessment.
