In outsourcing, size, scale and technological expertise really do matter, and IBM has an abundance of each. Big Blue recently signed new contracts with Campbell's Soup and other companies looking to cut costs and improve efficiencies in the down economy. One negative: Given the growing protectionist sentiment, IBM has received adverse publicity for cutting nearly 10,000 U.S. jobs while expanding its offshore presence.
