Since the iPhone's release questions have been repeatedly raised about its usefulness in the enterprise. At least one software company is betting that the iPhone can play a serious role.
MicroStrategy, a provider of business intelligence software, announced that the latest release of its MicroStrategy 8 software will support interactive reporting and analysis directly over the Apple iPhone.

iPhone users can view operational reports, business charts and graphs, as well as dashboards featuring key performance indicators (KPIs), utilizing the phone's touchscreen interface.
McLean, Va.-based MicroStrategy says including built-in support for the iPhone means users will be able to access the same reports on their phones that they currently access from their desktops. As an example, the company said a pharmaceutical salesperson can review the latest market share reports, prescription sales and inventory data to prepare for a sales call.
