Research In Motion opened its answer to the iPhone App Store almost three months ago. And while it will likely never rival the Apple store in terms of size--several hundred applications, versus more than 50,000 for the iPhone--the BlackBerry App World is home to a lot of great software.

But unlike iPhone app developers, BlackBerry software makers seem to have no compunction about charging steep prices. In fact, the same application can sometimes cost more for the BlackBerry than the iPhone. That may make sense considering the products' differing demographics, but does anyone really want to spend $60 for a mileage tracking app?

While users should hardly expect to get everything for free, what if they did? We sifted through the software available at BlackBerry App World with an eye on the price tag and came up with ten apps that can help you do your job better or, in some cases, help your BlackBerry do its job better.
