The Americas' SAP Users' Group today is launching an online directory of SAP consultant with a little something extra—reviews by ASUG members who have used the consultant's services.
Called Edge, the directory is searchable by a consultant's SAP product expertise or business sector experience.
Reviews are submitted anonymously by individuals who have worked with a consultant or firm and includes project descriptions, service evaluations, and overall quality of work, said ASUG. Grades are giving on an A, B, C scale. Edge also allows subscribers to contact the person who submitted the review.

Edge is available on an annual subscription basis. ASUG members pay $995; non-members SAP customers can access the directory for $1,495 a year. Subscriptions are based on the calendar year, but those who sign up now receive an extended subscription through 2009.
The idea for the directory with reviews came from ASUG members who often struggle to find good SAP help, said Steve Strout, ASUG chief executive officer. And Edge should help companies implementing SAP's enterprise software products make better decisions about the consultants they use, he said
The directory should also give much-needed visibility to smaller SAP consulting firms that do good work. "[Edge] gives niche shops an opportunity to tell the world about themselves," Strout said.

A wonderful idea. A long cherished want of SAP subscribers would be met by a large extent. But the service charge is rather stiff. I am from India presnetly busy implementiong SAP in a major public sector steel plant Bhilai of SAIL.
