Recreational Equipment Inc., an outdoor sporting goods retail cooperative, names Bill Baumann as vice president of information technology; Baker Hughes, an oil and gas drilling services company, appoints Clifton Triplett as its vice president and CIO.
Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI), an outdoor sporting goods retail cooperative, announced it has hired Bill Baumann as vice president of information technology.
Baumann will lead a 195-member IT team, and will be responsible for application development and support, architecture and networks. He will also manage all systems that support REI's online activities.
Baumann joins Kent, Wash.-based REI from Musician's Friend, where he was in charge of online IT operations. He also previously served as CIO for Tower Records.
Baker Hughes Hires Triplet as CIO
Baker Hughes, a Houston-based company that provides reservoir consulting, drilling and other services to the oil and gas industry, has hired Clifton Triplett as its vice president and CIO.
Triplett arrives at Baker Hughes from Motorola where he most recently served as vice president global services and previously was CIO for the network and enterprise group. Prior to Motorola, Triplett held a variety of senior IT roles at General Motors, Allied Signal and Entergy Services.
"Clif's deep experience in managing the commercial deployment of advanced technologies to significantly improve business operations will be an important asset as we continue to build and grow a global high performing business," CEO Chad Deaton said in announcing the hiring.
