New York Times Hires New CIO

The New York Times Co. announced that it has hired Joseph Seibert, the former chief operating officer of apparel company Marc Ecko Enterprises, as its new CIO. Seibert will report to chief financial officer James Follo in the position.
While Seibert served as the COO at Marc Ecko from 2006 and previously was the COO of Home Décor Products from 2005 to 2006, he brings deep IT experience to The New York Times. He was the CIO at GSI Commerce from 2003 to 2005 and held a variety of management positions at CBS and Viacom, including CIO.
While at Viacom, he ran an IT department with some 1,200 employees.
"He is a proven leader with extensive experience in operations and every area of information technology, including corporate infrastructure and the Internet," said Follo in announcing the hiring.
