Southwest Airlines names Bob Young as chief technology officer; Integra LifeSciences Holdings appoints Gabrielle Wolfson as chief information officer.

Southwest Airlines Names New CTO


Southwest Airlines named Bob Young as its new vice president and chief technology officer.


Young will lead the Dallas-based airlines infrastructure teams including Change, Test and Deployment, Application and Data Architecture, Tech Services Operations Support, and Tech Services Field Support and Engineering.


He will report to Jan Marshall, Southwest's vice president of technology and chief information officer; Laurie Hulin, vice president aircraft of operations and enterprise management; and Darren Dayley, vice president of customer experience portfolio.


"With so much work to do and the excitement we all feel about these projects, we are thrilled to have someone with Bob's energy and background on our team to help carry all of this momentum forward," said Bob Jordan, Southwest's executive vice president of strategy and planning. Young's areas of expertise include data center operations, architecture, and applications development. Previous employers include Harrah's, UnitedHealth Group and US West (now Qwest).


Integra LifeSciences Appoints CIO


Integra LifeSciences Holdings, which manufactures and markets surgical implants and medical instruments, just named Gabrielle Wolfson as its chief information officer.


Wolfson, who has more than 20 years' IT experience, will be responsible for Integra's global IT strategy and operations. "We are delighted that Gabrielle is joining the Integra team," Gerard Carlozzi, Integra's executive vice president and chief operating officer, said in a prepared statement. "Our IT systems and operations are a critical business component, and Gabrielle brings a wealth of experience that will enhance our use of information technology."


Wolfson joins Integra from Par Pharmaceuticals, where she was vice president and chief information officer. Before joining Par, she served in senior IT management positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Pernod Ricard Group, and Viacom/Showtime Networks.
