Paid Search Company Hires Former Yahoo! VP of Engineering

Marin Software, a provider of paid search engine management applications for advertisers and agencies, announced that it has hired Ram Gupta, former vice president of engineering operations for Yahoo! as its new chief technology officer.

Marin offers applications that are aimed at companies who spend $50,000 or more per month on paid search programs with companies like Yahoo! or Google.

Gupta brings nearly two decades of IT management to San Francisco-based Marin. While at Yahoo! he directed operations management of the company's IT systems at data centers around the globe. Prior to Yahoo! he spent 10 years at Oracle where he held the position of senior director of software development and IT in Oracle's application division.

In an announcement about the hiring, Gupta said he was looking forward to building out the features offered in Marin's applications and meeting the demands of the fast-growing industry. "Search marketing today is much more sophisticated than it was just five years ago," he said. "As spending across the board increases, the stakes are at an all-time high for the largest search marketers spending $50,000 to millions per month."

Reverse Mortgage Technology Specialist Joins Bay Docs

Bay Docs, a company which provides document preparation technology and services to the reverse mortgage industry, has tapped Bank of America for its new CTO.

The Novato, Calif., company said it has hired Hanno Ginn to head up its IT department. Ginn was credited with being a key developer of the processing, origination, fulfillment and reverse mortgage servicing systems for BofA.

Bay Docs was established in 1994 and solely provides document services to lenders in the reverse mortgage industry.

Homeland Security Medical Information Chief Joins Vangent

In his new role, Klein will be responsible for directing health information management and technology offerings for Vangent's customers. Vangent is headquartered in Arlington, Va.
