Johnson Controls Names Boyd CIO


Johnson Controls has reached out to Sony Ericsson to fill its top information technology role, announcing that it has hired Colin Boyd as CIO. Boyd served as CIO and corporate vice president for Sony Ericsson.


Boyd will succeed Sam Valanju, who is set to retire from the Milwaukee-based company next spring.


NYISO Promotes Richard Dewey to CIO


The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO), which operates New York's electricity grid, has named Richard Dewey CIO, effective Oct. 1.


Dewey, who was director of product and project management, will fill the position currently held by S. Kennedy Fell, who plans to retire at the end of 2008. Fell has served as CIO since September of 2000.


Before joining the NYISO in 2000, Dewey served as IT manager for Husky Injection Molding Systems in Pittsfield, Mass., and as a network services manager for Niagara Mohawk Power in Syracuse, N.Y.
