Featured Speaker: IT Career Coach Margaret Meloni
When you find yourself out of work and the bills are piling up, people can be consumed by the thought of needing to spend every minute searching for the next job.
What a waste, says IT Career Coach Margaret Meloni. You won't get many chances to take a breather in your working life, and obsessing over finding a job isn't going to help.
"Sure, you are going to have to work on your job search," says Meloni, "but you also have to allow yourself to enjoy this time."
In other words, make sure you do what you can to network and put out resumes, but when a break comes in the day, take it and enjoy it. That way, when you look back on this period of your life, you'll see it as a wonderful time, advises Meloni.
In this third part of a four-part audiocast series, Meloni discusses the importance of positive thinking and positive use of time in the job search.
Margaret Meloni heads Meloni Coaching Solutions, which helps Information Technology professionals create career strategies that bring them success and enhance their work experiences. Margaret has more than 18 years experience in Information Technology.

Hi all - having been out of work for several months just recently, I must agree with Ms. Meloni.
I did take time out for myself, reconnected with great friends I had not seen in quite some time AND continued to job network in a sane manner. The tendency at first was to be a bit manic about things, particularly if I listened to the news and read about the horrors of the economy. I actually stopped consuming the news, for the negativity was consuming me!
As I now look back at the time I had without a job, I am grateful for accomplishing personal projects and for the reconnections I made. The time away from the daily rigors of a position was very rich, very rewarding.
