Former Sprint CIO Joins Wireless Venture

Former Sprint chief information officer Richard LeFave has joined Validas, a company that uses a Web platform to help consumers manage and save money on their cell phone plans.

The Missouri City, Texas company said LeFave will take on the position of senior technology advisor and will guide the company's product management and business development efforts.

LeFave brings more than 30 years of executive management experience into the role, including stints with New England Telephone, Nextel Communications, and most recently Sprint. At Sprint, LeFave was tasked with overseeing the information technology integration of spring and Nextel.

"We are excited to add such a prestigious and valuable individual to the Validas team," company chief executive Tom Pepe said of the hiring. "It is a great validation of our message, approach and products to win the support of someone with Mr. LeFave's knowledge, experience and tremendous skills."

Validas offers a Web-based platform that allows cellular phone service subscribers to better manage their minutes, identify and resolve billing errors, and pick the best plan. It provides users with usage analysis tools and side-by-side plan comparisions and recommendations.
