Auto parts maker Dana hires Abdallah Shanti from American Axel; parent of Flushing Savings Bank hires Allen Brewer as new CIO

Auto parts manufacturer Dana Holding Corp. announced it has hired Abdallah Shanti to take over the helm of its IT operations.


The Toledo-based company picked up Shanti from American Axel & Manufacturing, where he also served as CIO. Shanti has nearly 25 years experience in IT and engineering experience, having worked for such companies as General Motors, Lucas-Varity and Perot Systems. While at American Axel, Shanti also served as vice president of global procurement and electronic product integration for six years.


"Abdallah's deep IT and systems engineering experience will be a great asset to Dana as we move toward common systems and processes," Dana Chief Financial Officer Jim Yost said. Shanti will be responsible for the development, coordination and advancement of Dana's global information systems. The company employs 32,000 people in 26 countries and had sales of $8.7 billion in 2007.


Flushing Financial Hires Allen Brewer as CIO


Flushing Financial, the parent company of Flushing Savings Bank, announced that it has hired industry veteran Allen Brewer as its new CIO.


Brewer has been consulting for the Lake Success, N.Y.-based company since July of 2008, and previously was president of ALEL Management Corp. He has also served as CIO at American International Group (AIG).
