Avery Dennison has named Richard Hoffman to the position of senior vice president and chief information officer.
Most recently he was the president and CEO for Hyundai Information Systems North America, a standalone company owned by and providing services to Hyundai Motor America and Kia Motor America.
He succeeds Kenneth Wolinsky in the role, who the company said will continue to work with Avery Dennison on special projects. Avery Dennison is headquartered in Pasadena, Calif., and specializes in office products, pressure sensitive materials, and retail information systems.
Prior to Hyundai, Hoffman held management roles at Dole Food Company, Cummins, Yamaha and Digital Equipment Corp.
"Rich brings more than 20 years of experience as an IT executive to Avery Dennison and will play an active role on our senior management team," CEO Dean Scarborough said in announcing the hiring.
Whataburger Looks to Brinker for new CIO
The Whataburger Restaurants chain has announced it has hired Karen Bird away from competitor Brinker International to serve as its CIO.
Whataburger is a restaurant chain based in Corpus Christi, Texas, which began operating in 1950. It now has some 700 outlets across 10 states.
Bird comes to Whataburger from Dallas-based Brinker, where she served as vice president, restaurant information solutions. Brinker operates such restaurant chains as Chili's, Maggiano's Little Italy, and On the Border Mexican Grill.
