DeRodes Joins NCR Board
Departing Home Depot chief information officer Bob DeRodes has been named to the NCR Corp. board of directors, along with Richard Clemmer, a senior advisor to private investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR).
DeRodes announced his departure as CIO of Home Depot in April and plans to leave the post by end of the year. Clemmer is currently a member of board of directors of i2 Technologies, a supply chain software company, and previously served as president and CEO of Agere Systems.
Alltel Hires Bruce Jacobs as CIO
Telecommunications provider Alltel has tapped the financial services industry for its new CIO. The Little Rock, Ark.-based company has hired Bruce Jacobs, former head of infrastructure for ABN AMRO Services of Chicago, to head up its information technology strategy.

Jacobs will report to Jeff Fox, Alltel's chief operating officer.
Finance Veteran Joins Babson Capital
Praveen Kumar, who has spent more than 20 years in technology executive leadership positions with various investment firms, has joined Babson Capital Management of Springfield, Mass., as its new CIO.

Kumar will report to COO James Masur and will lead the company's efforts to implement technology offerings to better manage clients' portfolios. Kumar joins Babson from Wellington Management of Boston, where he was director of enterprise systems. Previously, he was head of the technology application development group at JPMorgan Chase and led application development initiatives at Lehman Brothers.
