Power generation company AES appoints Elizabeth Hackenson to the role of senior vice president and CIO; global payments company MoneyGram International hires Mubashar Hameed as its new information chief.

Power generation company AES Corp. announced that it has appointed Elizabeth Hackenson to the role of senior vice president and CIO.
Hackenson joins the Arlington, Va.-based company from Alcatel-Lucent, where she served as CIO. While at Alcatel-Lucent she was credited with designing a global shared services team that maintained operations for 80,000 employees in more than 130 countries. Prior to joining Alcatel-Lucent, she was the CIO of telecommunications company MCI.
Hackenson will report to Chief Operating Officer Andres Gluski.
"Elizabeth is a proven leader in the IT industry and ideally suited for the global challenges that AES faces," Gluski said in announcing the hiring. AES, with annual revenues of $13.6 billion, operates in 29 countries, providing electricity to some 100 million people.
MoneyGram Names Mubashar Hameed CIO
MoneyGram International, a global payments company based in Minneapolis, has named Mubashar Hameed as its new CIO.
Hameed joins the company from FuzionOne, an IT consulting company he founded based in Houston, Texas. Prior to FuzionOne, Hameed served as CIO at Fiserv Output Solutions, and spent 10 years at General Electric where he held a variety of positions, including CIO for the Security and Aero Energy businesses.
Hameed will report to MoneyGram chief operating officer Tony Ryan in the role and will also serve as a member of the senior leadership team.
