User Dissatifaction to grow to 50% - Says Gartner

by John Stevenson

Tom Austin, Gartner VP, says that if IT deploys new or innovative technology in a uniform and disciplined way, their clients with the closest eye on the new wave of technology will become disenfranchised and be strong critics of the "plodding" IT organization. Tom's input tot the iT community is to have the "hot to have's" amongst their clients as the rapid deploy test group, which means you will have a high user interest and also a business partner in the success or failure of the new initiative. This is an interesting philosophy, many questions come to mind:

A. What is the CEO's take on experimentation with the the "squeeky wheels" as the guinea pig ?

B. Has the IT group been stsaying reasonably close to the required technology deliveries of their industry, without giving in to the "whiners" ?

C. Is Tom Austin right ?

Gartner seems to be backing this theory, is it the right approach to user satisfaction ?

Thoughts ??
