It's a given that anyone who runs a corporation has an elevated self-image and ego to match. In fact, if you ever met an egoless CEO, sell any stock you may have in his company pronto. The ego goes with the territory. That said, some CEOs have a vastly inflated sense of their own worth. They're in the headlines on an almost daily basis, often surround themselves with devoted followers, and, of course, believe they can do no wrong. Any names come to mind? Donald Trump, say, or Richard Branson from Virgin Airlines. Maybe Jack Welch, late of GE?

Of course, the technology industry has its share of these characters. Here are six who stand out from the back.
