Google has made its Wave collaboration tool available for anyone to use, following a six-month, invitation-only preview period. The tool is designed for Web-based collaboration on projects and for idea sharing, but the concept is hardly new; collaboration tools from Microsoft, IBM, Novell and others have been around for years.
