The debate about whether Apple can continue to thrive without Steve Jobs at the everyday helm gained fresh currency yesterday when expectations first were raised that he would appear at the new product demo, and then dashed.

 

Early on, in fact, it seemed that all anyone cared about was whether Jobs would make an appearance.

 

But what ended up mattering most was the news that Apple was slashing prices, which could only be bad news for shareholders

 

And now there’s this reminder that the company has done just fine, thank you very much, without Jobs around.

 

Talk about noise. So I've started a forum thread on the topic.
