Hi, We employ approximate 1200 apprentices in Western Australia. These apprentices are usually aged between 18 and 24, and we hire/train them and they then gain their apprenticeship at a host company. Being in WA, that will be in construction or mining. Currently we require the apprentice to complete a "paper" timesheet and get this approved. Once approved it should be faxed through to Head Office to organise payment to the apprentice, and billing to the host company. That's a lot of faxes to sort out, plus when we get them we need to apply specific calculations associated to their rates of pay for each trade, then any overtime too. I'm looking forward to getting this automated someway, and wondered if anyone else had a similar problem, or are aware of any potential software packages there to help us. So far Telstra's Xora is one option, but that's just purely an electronic timesheet accessed via a mobile phone. We probably need a bit more than that. Thanks

Hi Les,

Have you tried using Joomla as a solution to this issue? There's an extension called Team log: http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,5720/Itemid,35/

In combination with Joomla and this extention, you should be able to manage your timesheets online without a lot of fax management. It will also allow you to keep track of how productive the employees are and analyze your costs and benefits based on hard numbers.

Best,
