Today, we see law suits that cost millions. The question is how does that happen? While lawyers might be making more money, the real reason is that companies have to pay third-party companies to preserve, archive, produce, and etc their own data. Companies should own their information systems and reduce the amount of information they retain. The concept of purging while old is still a great one and one that we will cover in future blogs. You somewhat contradict yourself in stating that the concept of 'purging while old is still a great one.' 
 
The 'purging' of data opens the door for lawsuits...
