I really, really, don't like licensing these days. One vendor for a product we use requires an entirely new license key file every time we install the product. Same machine, same version, same user, support contract still active. I'm all for companies protecting their I.P. But why place *such* a burden on the end user? I accept the inconvenience of having to prove that I'm a customer. But every single time I have to install? One company's licensing process is so cumbersome that even a failed installation resets the license, forcing a new request, and a new wait for response. It's enough to make open source software seem more attractive with each passing day.
