IT Workers On The Move
Did you know that 9% of all IT workers in their 20s are looking to change careers not just their jobs. Many of them do not enjoy working with computers and would rather apply their problem solving and analytical skills in a different way.

Another interesting tidbit
"Today, employees change jobs every 18-36 months. As you read this, more than half of your employees are job hunting, some actively, some passively."

These statistics are a reminder that talent retention is important in good times and most especially in challenging ones.
* Sixty per cent of your workforce do just enough at work not to get fired.
* Only 20% actually come to work committed to make a difference.
* By 2012 it is expected that the number of jobs will out number available employees by close to 10 million.
* By 2013, 20% of the largest corporations in the U.S. will lose 40% of their top talent to retirement.

Some private companies are doing the right things in keeping the best talent but when it comes big, particularly public companies, you start to lose the attachment. I don’t blame the employees or individuals of having to look after their own interests, because most employers don’t see that as the highest priority on their agenda.
