The latest commerical for Microsoft Windows is making an effort to connect with a newer generation of users and attempting to mimic the apple sense of humor demonstrated by the mac vs pc ads.
The new campaign has generated a lot of buzz around the web and there's a natural divide between bloggers who think the campaign isn't going to help Microsoft versus those who appluad it.
It remains to be seen the kind of impact this will have for the company's reputation at a cost of $300 million dollars.

Having been in Consumer Products companies during my career, in particular, Dr Pepper/Seven-Up, if a TV spot generates any type of residual "buzz" then it is a win. I didn't like the spot itself, but I admire the fact that it is getting alot of subsequent write-ups and blogs. Watch for the marketing follow-on impressions and the total rememberence statistics that should come out later this month.
