What can IT professionals learn from a youngster about technology? Perhaps simply that today's trend is tomorrow's toolset. The world of communications is always changing as we know, below are some new trends.

According to a recent Survey by HarrisInteractive :

According to this national survey cell phones are key to teens' social lives.

* 80% (17 million) of teens carry a wireless device—it's a 40% increase since 2004
* 47% of U.S. teens surveyed say their social life would end or be worsened without their cell phone
* 57% of teens view their cell phones as the key to their social lives
* 52% agree that cell phones are a new form of entertainment
* 33% play games on their phones
* 80% say their cell phone provides a sense of security while on the go
* the study also confirmed that texting is replacing talking among teens (teen said they spend as much time texting as they do talking)
* teens are very anxious for personalization and control of their wireless devices. On their wish list are the following:

80% want guaranteed secured data access to the user only

66% want their wireless device to provide accessibility to personal health records
81% want their wireless device to be waterproof and shock proof
80% want their wireless device to have endless power.
