I don't think the size of companies anymore matter - remember the internet age adage "it is not the big that eats the small, but it is the fast that eats the slow".
The world is changing fast, economics is moving in equal speed yet complicated manner, and collaboration has become a necessity across our societal spectrum - in the midst of all these, it is a challenge to make a true difference with an old fashion management/leadership structure - what we are seeing is generational gap and thinkers across business models, and users/consumer/customers at large.
Anyone reading this post works in the IT industry and is tech savvy (to varying degrees of course, depending on your position). But do you have a firm grasp on how to utilize Web 2.0 applications for the benefit of your business?
All we need now is to add the capacity to intelligently perform our work duties and we are all redundant and can leave the computing in the world to multiply endlessly on our behalf
I agree, not only is it the fast that eat the slow but those who have mastered the efficiencies of using the internet and new forms of communications - including social media. As the web is all about elimination of the middle man, the available platforms offerings, both open source and application specific need to be deployed in order to leverage their capabilities.
