Force10 Networks’ Exec Appointed to Ethernet Alliance Board
Networking vendor Force10 Networks announced earlier this month that John D’Ambrosia, Chief Internet Evangelist of the company’s CTO office, has been appointed to the Ethernet Alliance’s board of directors. D’Ambrosia co-founded the Ethernet Alliance in 2006, according to Force10 Networks officials, and has been active in developing technology and standards related to Ethernet since 1999. He has held a number of positions with the alliance, including director, secretary, and business development manager.
Ethernet technology holds an exciting position today as a widely accepted, de-facto protocol for networking yet it still offers tremendous promise for continued innovation in the future, said D'Ambrosia in a prepared statement. The Ethernet Alliance has played a key role in this innovation by helping to establish Ethernet standards bodies and testing practices. In my new role, I look forward to making contributions to the advancements in Ethernet that enable greater network efficiency, flexibility and cost effectiveness for both developers and end users.
The Ethernet Alliance is a community of end users, system and component vendors, experts, university and government professionals committed to the success and expansion of Ethernet.
