While economists point to signs that the U.S. is recovering from the recession, corporations continue to shed jobs. In October, the unemployment rate rose to 10.2 percent -- the highest in more than 25 years -- as about 190,000 workers lost their jobs.

The technology sector has been hit particularly hard over the past few weeks, with companies paring back as consumers and enterprises continue to spend their dollars carefully. From AOL to Microsoft, here's a look at the recent onslaught.
