Last year was pretty dismal for the technology industry, as global IT spending fell 4.6 percent, according to Gartner. Layoffs were widespread, and some major personnel cuts were still being announced in November.
Well, the analysts are a little more optimistic about 2010, and we've been seeing some of those famous "green shoots" in the IT industry. Of course, the news isn't all rosy, with wireless carrier Verizon just announcing that it will cut 10,000 jobs this year, on top of the 13,000 staffers it let go in 2009. But here, in any case, are four companies that are planning to boost their headcount.
