As I mentioned in a recent blog post, researchers at management consulting firm Booz & Co. contend that the model for managing talent doesn't work for today's workforce. That old model imposes on employees a vertical climb up the corporate ladder that today's employees simply won't bite. It fails to account for demographic changes or employee mindsets (especially among the knowledge crew).

Today's talent pool looks a lot different from what employers became accustomed to in the 20th century. A more appropriate approach to talent management in today's environment encompasses four major priorities, according to Booz consultants.
