STR Holdings Creates CTO Role
STR Holdings has created a CTO position and has appointed Charles Reid to fill the role. Reid will be charged with developing and commercializing encapsulants for the photovoltaic solar panel industry, the company said, and will report to president Robert Yorgensen.
"Reid brings executive-level management skill to our technology group, along with his deep and varied experience in product and process development, technical service, commercialization and general business acumen," said Yorgensen in a statement. "Charlie has spent the better part of his career either innovating or managing the innovation of polymer-based, mission-critical components for complex systems."
Reid has more than 20 years of experience in polymer sciences. He has worked at Union Carbide, Solvay, and most recently at Manzanita Consulting, where he developed encapsulants and backsheets for building-integrated solar applications.
