VDI is being seen as a way of managing desk tops applications. Security is also a big risk and challenge that can be solved with VDI. VDI assumes the application images being stored in the network and they are being sent over the network by clicking the applications on desk tops. This concept is not new and with server virtualization and application virtualization VDI will also play a major role in virtualizing desk tops.
