Forrester forecasts $628M Mashup market

Exciting news on a Forrester webcast the other day. Their forecast for Mashups: to be a $628M segment by 2013. Even by 2009, the Mashup market will be a $100M segment, says Forrester. They mention that there is a current air of confusion about Mashups, and what they can do for the enterprise. Many of the developers and architects that I speak to are skeptical, or prefer to ‘wait and see.’ When I see this gap between mainstream adoption and innovation, I call it arbitrage. Mashups are being adopted by the visionaries who understand both technology and creating competitive differentiation for the business. But if Forrester is right, it won’t be long before the enterprise hops on the bandwagon too.
