"If they don't understand their business really well, a well-meaning vendor could get them into a more costly solution than they would ordinarily need," Lang explained.
"Most disaster recovery vendors cannot breathe or flux with the needs of the business," Lang noted. "They're geared toward constant increases in hardware, capacity and services from any type of business."
"Once they do become reliant on [HIT], they sometimes forget that if they don't take business continuity or disaster recovery in mind, [the] reliance on IT can be a hindrance to them if they should have a disaster of some kind," Lang explained.
