Are You Ready For Chrome by Google?
Written by Jay Rajani

So another browser to worry about for web developers. That was initial reaction to the latest news by Google. The rationale behind this release according to Google is that they think they can add value for the user and at the same introduce innovation on the web.

From their annoucement blog entry:

"Under the hood, we were able to build the foundation of a browser that runs today's complex web applications much better. By keeping each tab in an isolated "sandbox", we were able to prevent one tab from crashing another and provide improved protection from rogue sites. We improved speed and responsiveness across the board. We also built a more powerful JavaScript engine, V8, to power the next generation of web applications that aren't even possible in today's browsers."

This sounds similar to the features promised in the IE8 beta 2. Ultimately, I have yet to install either IE8 beta 2 or this release. I'll post an update once I've installed and experienced both browsers.
